Hidden in a wretched back alley of Hollywood is a bar where Jedi, Sith, smugglers, bounty hunters, and all sorts of denizens from a galaxy far far away stop for a drink or two. We’re talking about the Scum and a Villainy Cantina, a Star Wars themed pop up experience for fans by fans. This homage to the Mos Eisley dive bar is perfect spot to light up that lightsaber, grab a cocktail, and talk some Star Wars.
You can tell that this was a labor of love from folks who truly loved the movies. Especially with the little details such as the bar decorations which was designed to look like the heads of the IG-series of assassin droids or the booths which are like the ones where Han Solo and Greedo had their infamous shoot out and also from time to time you’ll even hear the rumblings of a space transport taking off overhead.
We will say this, you’re going to this bar for the atmosphere. Don’t expect a stage show or anything of the sort. We highly recommend going with a good group of friends and fellow Star Wars fans, it makes the experience all the more enjoyable (and it doesn’t hurt to dress up a bit and indulge your inner geek). We rolled in with a decent sized crew of Star Wars aficionados and had a blast. There’s a full bar with a list of specialty themed cocktails and some quite tasty bar food. We recommend the Wretched Blue Milk to drink and Twin Sun Fish Tacos and At-Tots with Carbonite Queso to eat.
Originally the bar was supposed to run for two months but due to popularity they extended the run into June. Entry fee is $50 to $80 and you get yourself two drink tokens, a souvenir pint glass, and a challenge coin which can be redeemed for half price cash re-entry during any future open walk up availability dates (be sure to check their facebook page for that).
